Grafton hospital restricts visitors as Covid cases surge

Advocate Aurora Health has updated its visitor policy to restrict visitors to its hospitals with some exceptions.
    The change came last week as hospitals throughout the country see upticks in Covid-19 cases because of the newest Omicron variation.
    Aurora’s visitor policy states the restriction was put in place to ensure patients receive the care and support they need while helping reduce the spread of Covid-19.
    Situations where a visitor will be allowed into Aurora hospitals, like Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, are select.
    One visitor will be allowed in the hospital to support a patient who needs assistance with care and decision making due to a disability, to support a patient unable to make decisions themselves or to receive discharge instructions. Three visitors at a time are permitted for end-of-life situations. Minor children may also accompany adult patients.
    Those allowed to visit should note that masks are required inside facilities at all times regardless of vaccination status, visitor guidelines are at the discretion of each location and visitors must be over 18 years old, excluding end-of-life situations or situations of child birth.
    “As we navigate Covid-19, the health and safety of our patents and team members is our top priority. We appreciate your partnership in supporting these recent changes as we work to keep our communities safe and healthy,” an Aurora announcement stated.
