Volunteers needed to help plan events
The Village of Fredonia Parks Committee is seeking volunteers to join a subcommittee that would assist in planning community events.
Trustee Dan Gehrke said the subcommittee would help the Parks Committee organize activities such as the Fredonia Family Fun on the Fourth celebration, movies in the park and other events.
“I’m looking for volunteers who would like to step up and help,” he said.
Subcommittee members may also assist in finding event sponsors, which would generate revenue and expand community activities.
Gehrke said he does not believe it is a government’s role to fundraise and that having the subcommittee would alleviate that concern.
As the pandemic wanes and events return to regularity, Gehrke added, the subcommittee would help ensure that village events are well executed.
Qualifications are not required to join the subcommittee.
Those interested can contact Gehrke at (262)339-6969.
