Evelyn ‘Evie’ Goelzer

Evelyn M. “Evie” Goelzer, age 84, of Waubeka, Town of Fredonia, Wis., passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, July 26, 2021.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1936, in the Town of Scott, Sheboygan County, Wis., to Henry and Elsie Kuhn Seil.
After graduating from Waldo High School in 1954, Evie worked at Marshal and Ilsley (M&I) Bank in Milwaukee for five years.
On Jan. 16, 1960, Evie married John P. Goelzer of Plymouth, Wis., at St. Leo’s Church in Milwaukee, Wis. They would soon make their home in the Town of Fredonia, Wis.
Evie worked for Appleland Orchards of Fredonia over the next 35 years, retiring in 2000.
She liked working outdoors. Evie loved to do lots of canning and freezing of her vegetables grown in the garden. She enjoyed making jam from her berries, often sharing with family, friends and neighbors as gifts. Her yard was expertly guarded by her beautiful flower beds with fieldstone all around. She was quite crafty and artistic in nature. Also known for her baking skills, Evie was always busy and will be remembered for her generosity and always thinking of others.
She is survived by her husband John; her son-in-law John (Katie) Schowalter; sisters Ramona (the late Charles) Stommel, Caroline (Robert) Heir and Mae (James) Giese; half-sister Dorothy (the late Edward) Behr; brothers Henry, Kenneth, Francis (Kathy) and Gerald (Linda) Seil; sister-in-law Susan (Al) Lawrence; brothers-in-law James (the late Dorothy), Ted (Kathy), Dave (Joyce) and Gerald Goelzer; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Evie is preceded in death by her daughter Judith Schowalter, her brothers Harold, John and Joseph Seil and brother-in-law Harold Goelzer.
At her request, no services will be held.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
