Jeffrey ‘Goobs’ Plier

Jeffrey “Goobs” Plier of Cedar Grove passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the age of 58.
The son of Franklin “Joe” and Kathy (nee Karrels) Plier, he was born March 7, 1962, in Port Washington.
He married Pamela (nee Burmesch) Uselding on Aug. 14, 2004, in Lake Church.
Jeff was a graduate of Port Washington High School, Class of 1981.
He served on the Port Washington Fire Department from May 1, 1980, through June 1, 2000, as a firefighter/assistant engineer and retired after 20 years of dedicated service.
Jeff enjoyed and loved working at Gilman Precision in Grafton, where he was employed for 32 years.
He also served as a village trustee in the Village of Belgium from 2001 to 2004 and was a member of the Belgium Lions Club from 2004 to 2009, serving as Lion Tamer and district director.
Jeff’s grandson meant the world to him and was his greatest joy. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed traveling to other NFL stadiums with family and friends to watch his favorite team. Jeff and Pam enjoyed spending time camping at their property and family cottage in the Legend Lake area, snowmobiling and spending time with the people they loved.
Jeffrey is survived by his parents; his wife Pamela; son Chris (Maggie) Uselding; grandson Bentley Uselding; siblings Ronnie (Jodi) Plier, Lisa (Pat) Allen and Jill (Jim) Gottsacker; mother-in-law Mary Helen Burmesch; sister-in-law Colleen Burmesch; and siblings-in-law Debra (Steven) Schanen and Donald (Darlene) Burmesch. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 451 N. Johnson St., Port Washington, WI 53074. Father Patrick Wendt will preside over the Mass.
Visitation will take place at Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, on Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. There will be a fire department walk-through at the funeral home at 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
