Gymnastics meet goes to the Bullhawks

The Cedarburg/Grafton gymnastics team topped Port Washington in both teams’ first meet after the Christmas break last week.

The Bullhawks won, 128.4 to 115.075, on Jan. 8 in Port.

Bullhawk Molly Tomashek won the all-around with 33.825 points, the vault with an 8.4 and the floor exercise with an 8.85. She was second on beam with an 8.775 and second on bars with 7.8.

Teagan White won bars with 7.925 and Lauralei Zautner won beam with 9.025.

For Port, Audrey Dickson was second on vault with 8.15. McKenzie Rick got Port’s highest score on floor with 7.725. Caitlin Hassler was the top scorer on bars with 7.25. Liz Ernest scored 7.55 on beam.

“Our team score continues to improve, with the Pirate gymnasts showing solid performances on both vault and floor exercise,” coach Gale Sigler said. “We look to consistently improve both the quality and difficulty in our routines.”

Cedarburg/Grafton was to compete at Nicolet on Wednesday and at Whitefish Bay on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Port was to compete at Hartford on Wednesday, at a Valders invite on Saturday, Jan. 25, and at West Bend East on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
