Gary Gosewehr

Gary J. Gosewehr died unexpectedly at his home in Port Washington on Saturday Oct. 19. He was 63.
He was born in Port Washington on Feb. 16, 1956, to John and Marilyn Lucas Gosewehr.
Mr. Gosewehr graduated from Port Washington High School in 1974, where he played football and was a star running back, his son Greg said.
He earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which he attended for one year before transferring to Milton College where he played football and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
He had a lifelong love of sports and especially enjoyed playing softball and golf.
Mr. Gosewehr was a longtime employee at Hayes Brakes in Mequon.
He is survived by his three children: Greg, of Madison, Stephanie (Justin) Urban, of McFarland, and Matthew, of Madison; grandson Jameson Urban; siblings Pamela (Daniel) Schmitz, Randy “Rudy” Gosewehr, Ronda (Allan) Haasch, Jodi (Randy) Rausch and Jackie (Gary) Barribeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Marilyn and Marilyn’s longtime companion Earl Abramowski.
A celebration of Mr. Gosewehr’s life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Hawthorne Hills Golf Course, 4720 Highway I in the Town of Saukville.
Eernisse Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
