A Grafton teenager was charged last week in Ozaukee County Circuit Court with raping a 15-year-old girl in May on the day after she rebuffed his advances.

Tyler A. Domoe, 17, faces felony counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child younger than 16 by use or threat of force or violence and strangulation and suffocation.

According to a criminal complaint, the girl told authorities that on Friday, May 29, Domoe and other friends came to her house for a bonfire. She said Domoe brought alcohol and repeatedly touched her in ways that made her feel uncomfortable. The girl said she told Domoe to stop and he was told to leave her house after he kissed her.

The next morning, the girl said, she was home alone when Domoe contacted her and asked if he could stop at her house to pick up a charging cable he left there. She said she told him no because she would be uncomfortable being home alone with him, then alerted a friend because she was concerned he would stop over anyway, the complaint states.

She said that a short time later, she heard someone enter her house and interact with her dog. Initially she thought it was her friend, but then Domoe opened her bedroom door and walked in, according to the complaint.

The girl said Domoe began kissing her forcefully, pushed her backward onto the bed and sexually assaulted her, the complaint states.

At one point, the girl said, Domoe grabbed her by the neck and pushed down so hard she couldn’t breathe. She said he also pulled her hair, according to the complaint.

She said she was afraid to fight back because she was home alone.

Eventually, the friend the girl had called  knocked on her bedroom door, and Domoe said, “Hold up, bro,” then came out, the complaint states.

The friend told authorities that the girl asked him to come over to her house because she didn’t want to be alone with Domoe. He said he ran to the girl’s house, went inside and found the girl’s bedroom door was locked. He said he knocked on the door and a short time later Domoe opened it and walked out, according to the complaint.

The friend said the girl told him, “Tyler (Domoe) forced me to have sex with him,” the complaint states.

During an Oct. 5 hearing, Ozaukee County Circuit Judge Steve Cain set bail for Domoe at $20,000. Court records indicate that bail was posted and Domoe was released from custody last week.

First-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 by use or threat of force or violence is punishable by a maximum 40 years in prison and 20 years of extended supervision.

Strangulation and suffocation is punishable by a maximum three years in prison and three years of extended supervision.
