Welcoming the newest exhibitors at Gallery 224

The four artists participating in the ArtServancy program whose works are being shown at Gallery 224 in downtown Port Washington through Oct. 31 were recently feted at a reception at the gallery. They include (clockwise from top left photo) Sophie Hughes, a photographer and filmmaker whose works were inspired by Forest Beach Migratory Preserve in the Town of Belgium; Rachel Catlett, a printmaker and painter who created “The Family Farm Bed” during the year she spent working at Pearl Forge Conservancy in Genesee; Zhiwan Cheung, a multimedia artist who reimagines landscapes into surreal digital scenes; and mixed-media artist Angela Piehl. Cheung’s and Piehl’s works were inspired by the Milwaukee River Greenway in Milwaukee.       Photos by Sam Arendt
