Winners of juried art exhibit announced

The winners of the 2026 Annual Juried Exhibit at the Cedarburg Cultural Center have been announced.

The exhibit, which was juried by Gaylund Stone and C.T. Whitehouse, who also selected the winners, features 115 works by 72 local artists.

Tom Kubala received the Best of Show award for his watercolor painting, “Late Winter on Cedar Creek.”

Three blue ribbons were awarded in the two-dimensional category. They went to Mary Mayhew for her oil painting “The Road Home;” Bruce Hustad for his pencil drawing “Cedarburg Covered Bridge I;” and Jim Buivid for his photograph “Solitude.” 

The blue ribbon in the three-dimensional category was awarded to Alan Buss for his mixed media sculpture “The Oracle.” Three red ribbons were awarded in the two-dimensional category. They went to Claudia Stenvig-Olsen for her fiber art “Meditation Blocks;” Mary Ackerman for her oil and cold wax painting “Scarlet Landscape;” and Chris Behrs for his pastel “Fishin’ Below the Dam.” 

The red ribbon in the three-dimensional category was awarded to Mark Andrews for his mixed media sculpture “First Light.” Five honorable mentions were awarded.

In the two-dimensional category they were given to Reilly McClellan for her acrylic painting “Kona Sunset;” Alice Struck for her watercolor painting “Covered Bridge;” and Sandra Pape for her acrylic painting “We Are Not Alone.” In the three-dimensional category, they went to two artists who made porcelain vessles — Rebekah Krieger for “Trio of Vessels” and Nancy Guido for “Tea for Two.” 

The items in the exhibit will remain on display through Sunday, Oct. 11. 

The center at W62 N546 Washington Ave. is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
