Peter J. “Pete” Hulka

Peter J. “Pete” Hulka, age 83, of Tomahawk, Wis., passed away on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at his home under the care of his family and Northshore Hospice.

Pete was born in Hartford, Wis., on Dec. 31, 1942, to the late George and Barbara (Faytle) Hulka.

He grew up in Cedarburg, Wis., where he was a 1961 graduate of Cedarburg High School. Pete attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and later served in the U.S. Army Reserve during the Vietnam era.

On Oct. 2, 1971, Pete married Julie Nystrom; she survives.

Pete worked for Cedarburg Light & Water for 35 years. He was also a dedicated volunteer fireman with the Cedarburg Fire Department for 25 years, proudly serving his community and the people around him.

In 2005, Pete and Julie moved to Tomahawk. He had a love for sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, and enjoyed spending time outdoors and taking pontoon boat rides.

Pete is survived by his wife Julie Hulka, his brother Jon Hulka, his sister Kristin Hulka and his niece Tara (Chris) Post. He is further survived by many cousins.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents George and Barbara.

A memorial service for Peter Hulka will be held on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at noon.  Deacon David Bablick will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 a.m. until the service at noon.

Memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk are appreciated.
