LETTER: ‘Ramble through 7 gardens’ showcased Port flora on walk

To Ozaukee Press:

Sunday, July 19, turned out to be a beautiful day for a Garden Walk in Port Washington. The temperatures cooled, the smoke dissipated and visitors enjoyed a lovely post-Fish Days ramble through seven gardens.

Thank you to our garden owners for opening their properties. Without their generosity, there is no Garden Walk. Visitors appreciated the diversity of the gardens and the opportunity to speak with the garden owners.

Next, thank you to our sponsors, Hoppe Tree Service, Port Washington State Bank and Hollrith Realty. Their financial support ensured the overall success of the event, and we are most grateful for their contribution.

Thanks as well to the Ozaukee Press, and specifically Mitch Maersch and Sam Arendt for the story and images featured in the Good Living section of the paper just days before the walk. Visitors commented that the story brought them out to see the gardens.

Finally, thanks to our members, their friends and family and all the visitors who came out to enjoy a lovely walk in some fine Port Washington gardens.
