Jeffrey Fechter

It is with a sad and broken heart that we announce the loss of my partner in life and best friend Jeffrey Fechter.

He was born to Clarence and Arlene Fechter on Aug. 5, 1959.

At age 66, he passed away suddenly at his home near Crooks Lake, Wis., on Jan. 9, 2026.

He retired in August 2024 as a CDL driver for Mike Lohman Trucking after 11 years in Minnesota. Prior to that, he drove for West Bend Transit for 19 years in Wisconsin.

His nicknames included Jeffro, Fletch, Fletcher and the Spiderman #29.

Jeffrey was a volunteer with the Newburg, Wis., fire department.

He loved racing his stock car, ATV and snowmobile and race his go-kart on ice.

He loved his Harley, camping and the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He attended and raced snowmobiles at the World Championship Snowmobile Derby in Eagle River, Wis., where he had quite a cheering section and was a member of the “Turn 4 Boys.”

He spent many hours with his cousins Bob and Bill. He loved gambling with his family. Cookies and ice cream were his favorites.

He loved to travel with Anita, the love of his life, and he cherished his nephews Jamie and Jeffrey and his sister Karen. He spent a lot of time with Anita’s kids, and he loved his grandkids, who called him Grandpa Jeff.

His favorite saying was “When in doubt, step on it.”

Jeff’s celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 15. There will be graveside prayers at St. Augustine Cemetery, 5479 Hwy. Y, West Bend, Wis., 53095, at noon followed by a reception at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1393, 260 Sand Dr., West Bend, Wis., 53095, from 1 to 3 p.m.
