Welcoming their new pastor

Father Matthew Kirk celebrated his first Mass as pastor of St. John XXIII Catholic Parish at St. Peter of Alcantara Church in Port Washington on Saturday, June 20, then met parishioners during a reception that followed. Among those he greeted during the reception was Marge Rausch. Kirk’s six-year assignment to the parish began June 16. He took over for Father Pat Wendt, who is retiring on June 30 after 26 years with the parish.                         Photo by Sam Arendt
