Fredonia splash pad grand opening is Friday
Fredonia will celebrate the grand opening of its splash pad on Friday, May 22.
The Port Washington State Bank Splash Zone at Marie Kraus Park technically opened last November, but only for a quick test run before the water was turned off for winter.
This time, the pad will open for the season.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with speeches, music and ice cream before the water fun starts.
The pad cost around $350,000, with much of that money raised via donations.
The splash pad is named after Port Washington State Bank, which was the largest contributor, with a matching grant and a donation totaling $50,000.
In addition, Andrew J. Construction donated time and labor.
