Not doctors yet, but on their way

Honored for their achievements in Grafton High School’s Project Lead the Way biomedical sciences program, 14 students received lab coats embroidered with their names during a White Coat Ceremony last week borrowed from the tradition of giving medical students lab coats to signify their entrance into the medical profession. Posing on stage were (front row, from left) students Elise Federl, Bella Windsor, Kacey Baker, Taylor Scibby, Remy Gundert, Elisa Ubaldo and Arianna Fuentes Hora, (back row) teacher Beth Anzia, Dr. Andrew Nicoli of Aurora Health Care, students Amelia Ramsey, Leo Chen, Lily Rowe, Ruthie Schmit, Brayleigh Sumner, Tanvi Hardas and Amelia Lundberg, Aurora Medical Center President Carla LaFever and teacher Micki Schreiner. To earn a white coat, students must complete and receive an A in all four biomedical science classes, achieve top scores on end-of-course exams and have a grade-point average of at least 3.7.
