Lions, students work together to illustrate peace in the world

The Fredonia Lions Club recently recognized the Ozaukee Middle School winners of the 2025 Lions Peace Poster Contest. Holding the artwork they created illustrating their visions of peace were (from left) Hadley Holsted, first place; Renata Reyes Castellanos, second place; Evie Rehm, third place; and Aubrey Sherman, fourth place. Fifth-place winner Kyra Jones is not pictured. Behind them were art teacher Ryan Hornickel and Lions Club member Kathy Shoemaker. Winners received cash prizes and the club donated $50 to the school to cover the cost of supplies. Lions Clubs throughout the world sponsor the Peace Poster Contest annually. This year’s theme was “Together as One.”     Photo by Sam Arendt
