Port State Bank promotes three to VP roles
Port Washington State Bank has announced the promotions of three employees.
Brian Gold and John Schumacher have each been named vice president-senior business lender.
Chanel Schmidt has been named vice president-branch manager. She oversees a team of five employees at the bank’s Belgium branch.
Gold had 16 years of business banking experience when he joined Port Washington State Bank in 2017.
He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he majored in business administration. He has a minor in public administration.
“Brian has been a key element in the growth of the bank’s southern markets,” Joel Dykstra, senior vice president-chief credit officer, said. With 10 years of previous commercial banking experience, Schumacher joined Port State Bank in 2017.
Schumacher has a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from UW-Milwaukee and a masters of business administration degree with an emphasis in finance from Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon. He also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at UW-Madison.
“John excels at communication and follow-through with his clients,” Dykstra said.
Gold and Schumacher will have expanded roles with the commercial banking team in business development and credit administration as the bank’s commercial lending continues to grow.
Schmidt, who has been with Port State Bank since 2014, has played a key role in the bank’s northern territory. She has served on numerous community boards and been involved with the Belgium Chamber of Commerce, as well as with her children in the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District.
“She is an extremely thoughtful, detailed and consistent performer, which is why our Belgium team continues to earn such high customer satisfaction ratings,” James Schowalter, bank president and chief operating officer, said.
