A 42-year-old Fredonia woman and a six-year-old girl were transported to a local hospital after the woman lost control of her van that rolled over into a ditch on Highway H Tuesday evening.

According to the Ozaukee Sheriff’s Office, the woman was driving east on Highway H just west of Highway KK at about 5:13 p.m. when she lost control of the red 2002 Pontiac Montana van she was driving after sliding on the icy roadway.

There were three young girls in the van, aged 9, 6 and 4, Sheriff’s Lt. Wayne Lambrecht said.

The van entered the ditch on the south side of the road and rolled over.

The driver and 6-year-old girl were transported to Aurora Medical Center in Grafton with non-life threatening injuries.

The Fredonia and Port Washington Fire Departments responded.

No citations were issued, Lambrecht said.
