Winter classes set at Port Senior Center
Upcoming programs at the Port Washington Senior Center include enrichment, physical wellness and educational programs.
Circuit training for men and women will be offered at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 3 to Feb. 23.
The program is adapted from Strong Women, Silver Sneakers and other age inspired fitness routines. A physical release form must be completed for all new participants or present members with physical or health changes.
The cost is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers.
Zumba Gold classes will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 2 to Feb. 23.
The low impact Latin-dance inspired fitness class is designed for adult beginners and participants with physical limitations.
This is an Optum, Silver Fit and Silver Sneaker Flex Class, and there is no fee for people who participate in these programs. The cost for center members is $20 for the course or $3 per class. For nonmembers, the fee is $35 and $5, respectively.
Reservation are due Dec. 22.
Hatha flow yoga will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays from Jan. 3 to Feb. 8.
The level-one course will focus on the slow flow of the poses, breathwork and meditation.
Those attending should bring a beach towel or mat, water bottle, towel or small blanket and wear loose fitting clothes.
The fee is $45 for center members and $55 for nonmembers. Registrations are due by Dec. 29.
The Green Felt winter pool league will run on Wednesdays from Jan. 3 to April 19. April 26 is the designated snow date, if needed.
Interested players should register in the pool room on bulletin board by Dec 21. Players also must be center members in good standing.
A schedule will be created by Wednesday, Dec. 28.
The $15 fee must be paid by Dec. 28.
Beginning tai chi will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesdays from Jan. 11 to March 1.
The class focuses on increasing balance, joint range of motion, strength, flexibility and self-awareness in a gentle, flowing low-impact way.
Side support with chair or seated modifications can also be taught for most moves.
The cost is $40 for center members and $50 for nonmembers. Registration is due Jan. 4.
Continuing tai chi fundamentals will be taught at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays from Jan. 11 to March 1.
The 45-minute class is for students who feel comfortable with the basic moves and form and want to further develop their practice.

“Learn to Play Mahjongg” will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 17 through Feb. 21.
The class is a combination of book and hands-on teaching. There is no fee for center members. The fee for nonmembers is $8.
Registration is due Jan. 10.
“Learn to play Cribbage” will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 10 to 31.
Students will learn the game from a regular player, then join the group to practice.
There is no fee for center members. The fee for nonmembers is $8.
Registration is due Jan. 5.
“Lace and Negative Painting in Watercolors” will be taught by Erin Blum from 1:45 to 3:45 p.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 17 to 31.
The cost is $50 for members and $60 for nonmembers. Registration is due Jan. 11.
“The Google Suite” technology class will be taught at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25.
There is no fee for center members. The fee for nonmembers is $3.
