Winter adventure day is Feb. 7 at Riveredge
Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville is holding a free winter adventure and exploration day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.
The free day will include activities for all winter conditions, such as boot hockey, broom ball, geocaching, the history of cross country skiing at Riveredge and, if conditions allow, snowshoeing.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Riveredge is also hosting free trail days from dawn to dusk on the second Saturday of every month — in this case, Saturday, Feb. 14.
A group welcome hike will be at 2 p.m.
Those attending may hike for free on the center’s 10 miles of trails. Maps are available at the trailhead kiosk. Trails are open dawn to dusk.
A free science Thursday lecture on underwater archeology will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12.
The talk by Ashley Lemke will include what life was like in the Ice Age Great Lakes, when people first entered the region and what they were like and how we can explore the ancient Great Lakes.
The program will be offered in-person at Riveredge and virtually on Zoom.
