Winker says road tour was noticed, Press didn’t receive it
Taking issue with a story in last week’s Ozaukee Press, Chairman Tom Winker said the Town of Belgium did not violate the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law when he and town supervisors gathered to inspect town roads earlier this month.
At issue is whether the town properly noticed the inspection.
Winker said the town posted a notice of the meeting, but Ozaukee Press did not receive one. Under the Open Meetings Law, meeting notices must be provided to all news organizations that request them. The Press has requested notices of all meetings.
Town Clerk Anne Nord did not respond to a question about whether the road inspection meeting was noticed.
