William J. Redmond III

William Redmond III, known to many as Joe, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the evening hours of Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, after a tragic accident. He was 51 years old.

Joe was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 19, 1968, the son of William J. Redmond Jr. and Susan Fricke Redmond.

He grew up in the Cedarburg and Grafton area and attended Grafton High School.

After high school, Joe got his associate’s degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College in tool and die.  He had been a tool and die maker for KMC Stamping in Port Washington for over 17 years.

On Aug. 28, 1999, he married Anne Wheeler at Covered Bridge Park in Cedarburg. The couple settled in Fredonia to raise their family.

Joe was man of faith and could often be seen reading his Bible during his breaks at work. He celebrated that faith as a member of Calvary Church in West Bend, where he helped with the music ministry, the Royal Rangers and the Men’s Ministry and played and coached on the church’s softball team for many years.

He enjoyed snowmobiling and was the secretary for the Schnee Katzen Snowmobile Club in Fredonia. He was formerly involved with Fredonia Little League and was a drummer for many area bands.

One of Joe’s biggest passions was being an assistant football coach with the Ozaukee Warrior football program at both the middle school and high school levels.

He had a very magnetic personality and loved socializing. You were not a stranger for very long around Joe.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Anne of Fredonia and three sons, Steven of Wausaukee, Lucas of Port Washington and David of Fredonia.

He is further survived by his parents Bill (Beth) Redmond of Pewaukee and Susan Redmond of Jackson; sister Melissa (Jason) Galeener of Cedarburg; nephew Brandon; dog Beau; other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral services were celebrated at Calvary Church, 1110 E. Decorah Rd., West Bend, on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Visitation was  held from 3 to 6 p.m. followed by the service at 6 p.m.

The Rev. Jerry Michaelson presided over the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ozaukee Gridiron Club.

Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is honored to serve the family.
