William “Willie” Krostag

William “Willie” Krostag, 70, of Antigo, formerly of Oostburg and Grafton, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at his home.

Willie was born on Aug. 18, 1954, in Sheboygan to Edward and Alice (Johnson) Krostag.

He attended Oostburg High School.

He married Shirley Cordts on April 27, 2013, in Port Washington.

Willie was a member of the Sauk Trail Conservation Club and enjoyed camping, trap shooting, fishing and hunting. He retired from EST Co. in Grafton (now Pace Industries), where he worked in diecast and maintenance.

Willie is survived by his wife Shirley; three brothers, Eddie Krostag of Sheboygan, John (Carla) Krostag of Oostburg and Jim (special friend Jill Scholten) Krostag of Oostburg; brother-in-law Ivan (Nancy) Eernisse; and special nephews and nieces Mike Eernisse, Amy (John) Eernisse-Liang, April (Joe) Schramm, Tony (Kristin) Krostag, Alison Krostag, Helen Bell, Jan (Patty) Eernisse and Jamie (Heidi) Eernisse. He is further survived by many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Howard and Ardis Cordts, sister Ann Eernisse, sister-in-law Denise Krostag and brother-in-law Mike Cordts.

A memorial service for Willie will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg at 11 a.m.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Memorials are appreciated in Willie’s name to First Presbyterian Church or Sauk Trail Conservation Club.

The Krostag family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sue Metzger, Shirley’s special lifetime friend, who was an angel for Willie and Shirley, and to the Aspirus Hospice doctors, nurses and all those involved for their wonderful care and compassion.
