The Ozaukee High School boys’ basketball team went up against one of the better schools in the state when they traveled to Sheboygan Lutheran last Thursday, and the score showed it.

The Crusaders are ranked No. 4 in the Division 5, Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports Boys Basketball Media Poll, and they walloped the Warriors, 91-46.

The Crusaders were hot from beyond the arc, making 14 long-range shots.

“Sheboygan Lutheran shot 56% from three, and we won’t win many games when a team shoots that well,” Ozaukee coach Bob Domach said.

“We took too many quick shots not in the flow of our offense. We will play them for the second time in a few weeks, and I think that will be a different game.”

Ozaukee’s Chase Mills had 17 points and Braydon Lowrance Eischen had 12.

On Monday, the Warriors lost at home to Sheboygan Christian, 43-39.

Neither team ever led by more than six points, with Sheboygan Christian leading by two at the break, 21-19.

Ozaukee was led by Lowrance-Eischen with 12 points and Chase Mills with 10. Gavin Ayala scored six, but no other Warrior had more than one basket.

Ozaukee, 4-7, plays at Central Wisconsin Christian on Thursday, Jan. 22, hosts Hilbert on Friday, Jan. 23, and plays at West Bend East on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
