Virginia A. Moore

    Longtime Grafton resident Virginia A. Moore, 90, died at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg on Thursday, Aug. 2.
    “She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her world,” her daughter Cheryl Higgins said.
    Mrs. Moore was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 19, 1928, to Clement and Lorraine Hintz Strong.
    She married George Lessard in Milwaukee and the couple had five children. Mr. Lessard preceded his wife in death in 1968.
    Later, she married John Robinson and Quentin Moore, both of whom also preceded Mrs. Moore in death.
    Her family said she had many hobbies such as reading, board games and bingo. Mrs. Moore was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, and she liked to attend the Ozaukee County Fair every year.
    Mrs. Moore was a member of the Landt-Thiel American Legion Auxiliary in Saukville and was an active resident at Lasata.
    Mrs. Moore is survived by her children Ron (Veronica) Lessard of Hancock, Mich., Cheryl (Jeff) Higgins of Grafton, and Debra (Brian) Laabs of Westby; grandchildren Angie (Mike) Meersman, Jason (LeAnne) Lessard, Tony (Sarah) Lessard, Genievieve (Brian) Nordmark, Michelle (Ben) Tampas, Kerri (AJ) Higgins and Kyle (Lexie) Higgins; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Pat (Paul) Brady of Mountain View, Ark.; and sons-in-law Bill Haecker of Jackson and Russell Steldt of Orlando, Fla.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two children, sister Geraldine Pliska, one great-grandchild and brother-in-law Harry Pliska.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton. Deacon Scott Wiese of St. Joseph Catholic Parish will officiate.
    Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.
    A private burial service will be held.
