Virginia Hill

Virginia L. Hill, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023. 

Virginia was born on Nov. 21, 1947, to the late Jewett (Sonny) and Doris (Broche) Huff in Alton, Ill. 

She married the late James N. Hill on Sept. 21, 1969, in Bethalto, Ill.  Together they shared 16 years of marriage.

After retiring from Tecumseh Products Co., Virginia rediscovered her passion for homemaking and enjoyed sewing, quilting and keeping her space clean and organized. 

She had an impressive collection of grandma sweatshirts in her closet and ice cream flavors in her freezer. 

As a lifelong Baptist, she was really happy to find and join the Highland Crest Baptist Church congregation when she moved to Green Bay to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters,  Elizabeth (Tim) Derozier and Leah (Paul) Mashl; her grandchildren  Camryn Derozier (special friend Sadie), Juan Mashl, Riley Derozier and River Derozier; her siblings Ross (Pat) Huff and Brian (Sue) Huff; and her sister-in-law Florence (Ed) Giles. 

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Sonny and Doris Huff and her husband James.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Highland Crest Baptist Church, 1830 Military Ave., Green Bay. Visitation will occur from 10 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m. 

Burial will take place at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Ill., on Monday, Jan. 30.

The family would like to thank St. Vincent Hospital nurses on the eighth floor and the Unity Hospice and Edenbrook of Green Bay nursing staff for the care and compassion shown to Virginia and her family.
