Violet A. Schuette

Grafton resident Violet A. Schuette was a woman of faith.

“She was active at Cedar Creek Community Church and later Vineyard Church in Grafton,” her daughter Barbara Bogart said. “She really loved God and her main interests were service and bringing people to the church.”

Mrs. Schuette, 93, died of heart failure Saturday, July 21, at Lasata Senior Living Campus in Cedarburg.

She was born in Starkwethel, N.D., on Feb. 19, 1925, to George and Irene Wick Schmitz.

She was married to Kenneth Schuette for 54 years before he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Schuette’s family said she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cross-stitching and baking. Her homemade peanut squares were a family favorite.

Mrs. Schuette is survived by her children Barbara Bogart of Port Washington, Stephen (Gail) of Cedarburg, Patricia (Jeff) Paine of Durham, N.C., and John (Victoria) of Saukville; grandchildren Matthew and Michael Bogart, Jodi Green, Caitlyn Gorth, Austin Schuette, Samuel and Jacob Schuette and Danielle Skakle; two great-grandchildren; sister Martha Nickle of Crandon and daughter-in-law Dennine Schuette of Saukville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, son Gary, siblings Ruth McDonald and George Schmitz, son-in-law Larry Bogart and brother-in-law Harold Nickle.

A funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton. The Rev. Curt Leonard will officiate.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 3 to 5:45 p.m.     

Private burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton.

Memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice are suggested.
