Village to start flushing hydrants on April 30
The Village of Saukville Water Department will be flushing hydrants from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 30, to Thursday, May 3.
Any discoloration in the water is caused by iron and is not harmful. If discoloration occurs, the water department recommends residents stop doing laundry.
If clothes have a reddish appearance, they should not be dried but rather rewashed in cold water to remove the discoloration.
Running faucets for a short period of time will usually clear the lines after hydrants are flushed.
