Village police officer to be honored May 10

The retirement of longtime Fredonia police officer Dave “Pods” Podewils will be celebrated at an open house from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the Fredonia Government Center.

Podewils served the Village of Fredonia as a police officer for 28 years.

He also was a police officer with the Village of Grafton for 42 years, 23 as a sergeant. He retired from the Grafton Police Department in February 2017.

Cake and other refreshments will be served at the open house.

The Village Board will honor Podewils at its meeting this week with a resolution thanking him for his years of service. The meeting is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Government Center.
