Veterans are the guests of honor at Flag Day Foundation lunch

The National Flag Day Foundation on Saturday honored veterans with a community lunch and open house at the Americanism Center in Waubeka ahead of Veterans Day on Nov. 11. Enjoying the food, which included sloppy joes made from prize Ozaukee County beef, and the company were (clockwise from left in photo above) Mike Berry, Frank Mueller, Peter Klas, Ron Lanser and Joe Schneider. Linda Strelow and Inez Brookins (below) looked at a traveling exhibit being hosted by the Americanism Center that includes photos of the 1,161 Wisconsin residents killed in the Vietnam War and listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
