Two men rescued after falling through lake ice

Two men were rescued Tuesday, Dec. 29, after they broke through the ice while walking across Random Lake.

According to a Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office press release, a 911 call was received at 5:19 p.m. from residents near the lake who said they could hear cries for help.

When rescue personnel arrived, they found two men, ages 47 and 25, who had attempted to walk across the lake and fell through when the ice broke.

Both men were rescued from the lake and transported to Aurora Medical Center in Grafton for treatment of hypothermia.

Units responding included the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Random Lake Ambulance, Random Lake Fire Department, Sheboygan County Dive Team, Orange Cross Ambulance, Silver Creek Fire Department, Kohler Fire Department, Plymouth Fire Department Ambulance and Cedar Grove Fire Department.
