Two events set at state park
Harrington Beach State Park in the Town of Belgium is holding two events this month and in February.
From 9:30 p.m. to midnight Sunday, Jan. 20, Northern Cross Science Foundation will open the observatory at Puckett’s Pond for viewing of the lunar eclipse. The event will be canceled if the sky is overcast.
A Valentine’s Day-themed hike, ski and snowshoe event will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Friends of Harrington Beach State Park will open the Ansay Welcome Center for food, hot drinks and music.
Dogs on a leash are allowed on the trails but not inside the buildings.
Both events are free, but a state park admission sticker is required for entry.
