Troy Burmesch

Troy Daniel Burmesch, age 43, of Rhinelander passed away on Oct. 11, 2024, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

A proud Marine Corps sergeant, Troy served 11 years, including tours during the Iraq War, and was honorably discharged.

He was an avid Jeep off-roading enthusiast and enjoyed guiding in the backcountry on horseback.

For 12 years, his loving service dog Koda was faithfully by his side, providing comfort and companionship through all of life’s challenges.

Troy is survived by his mother Sheila Brossmann (Allen); father and stepmother Larry and Sandy Burmesch; brother and sister-in-law Trent and Amy Burmesch and their children Chase (12), Cameron (9) and Charlie (5); and his stepsister and husband Jenny and Jeremy Peirsol and their children Ashlynn (14) and Chloe (12).

Visitation and a memorial service with military honors will be held at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd., Cedarburg, Wis., on Saturday, Dec. 7. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with the service starting at 11 a.m.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post, 435 N. Lake St., Port Washington, Wis. Please stop by to help us celebrate Troy! We will have snacks and water with drinks available to be purchased at the bar.

Donations in honor of Troy can be made to the Semper Fi Fund or Wounded Warriors.
