Town selects a new attorney
The Belgium Town Board on Monday unanimously chose a new attorney to represent the municipality.
Paul Alexy of Municipal Law & Litigation Group of Waukesha was selected.
The town used Alexy’s services in 2017 when it became involved in a civil lawsuit over a building in disrepair.
Town Chairman Tom Winker said the town was so impressed with Alexy’s work that they wanted to hire him.
“When you get to meet Paul Alexy, his vast experience in municipal law is phenomenal. When you ask him a question he has an answer. He doesn’t have to do any research,” he said.
Alexy charges $199 per hour and bills every 10th of an hour.
The town had been using Mike Herbrand of Houseman & Feind of Grafton, which charged $200 per hour.
