Town to hold annual budget hearing Nov. 18
The Town of Fredonia will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, to review a 2021 budget that would raise the property tax levy by 2.2% and have expenses go up 2.7%.
The proposed levy would increase from $568,281 to $580,904, while total expenses will go from $828,035 to $850,971.
The levy increase is within state limits but must be voted on at the electors meeting that follows the public hearing.
Proposed spending on public works will increase 3.3% from $465,230 to $480,681, under the proposed budget.
An agenda for that meeting also includes a resolution that would allow the town to spend more than $5,000 per mile on road maintenance and construction in 2021.
Other items include donating $7,500 to the National Flag Day Foundation, $500 to the Ozaukee Economic Development Corp., and $1,000 each to the Random Lake Cemetery Association and the Waubeka Community Cemetery.
