Tom Alan Glander

Tom Alan Glander Sr., born June 14, 1957, age 68, passed away at his home on Jan. 8, 2026, comforted by his wife and his dog Dolly as he was born into eternal life.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife Tina Glander; his children Tom Glander Jr. and Traci Glander; his stepchildren Laura, Michael, Larry, Melissa, Kayla, Jennifer, and Nicole; his grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; great-grandchild; his former wife Rita, mother of his children; and his siblings, Patti, Paul, Mike, Lisa, Jill and Stacy. He shared a special bond with his dog Dolly, who remained a constant companion.

He was preceded in death by his parents Erhard and Anne Glander.

Tom lived a life marked by faith, loyalty, hard work and quiet devotion to family. He had a strong belief in God and in the power of the Holy Spirit, and he attended services at Still Waters Community Church in Jackson. His faith was personal and steady, guiding him throughout his life.

Tom proudly served two years in the U.S. Navy. He was also proud of his work at Glander Metal, the family business founded in 1932, where he carried forward a multigenerational legacy through his dedication and craftsmanship.

Tom found joy in everyday moments and was known for his quick sense of humor. He was a fan of football, wrestling and racing. He remained a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan, and especially enjoyed attending NASCAR races with his son Tom Jr. His favorite NASCAR number was 6. 

A true grill master, he loved grilling for family and friends. He found peace walking along Lake Michigan, cherished traveling with his family, enjoyed playing bingo with his wife and loved listening to her sing karaoke. He was also a lover of collecting unique things and had a special fascination with aliens, a curiosity that brought him joy and sparked conversation.

Tom will be remembered for his faith, work ethic, sense of humor and the quiet, steady way he showed his love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A celebration of life will be held at Still Waters Community Church, 3617 Scenic Rd., Jackson, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, with Pastor Lori Lossie officiating. A lunch and gathering will follow the service.
