Todd D. Schowalter

It is with great sadness that the family of Todd D. Schowalter announces his unexpected passing on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.

Todd “Stoney” was born in Jackson, Wis., the beloved son of Donald and Esther (Holl) Schowalter on Jan. 18, 1961.

He moved to Saukville, Wis., in 1985, where he met and married Wendy Stoller on June 5,1993. Their son Shaun was born on Sept. 26, 1996. After divorcing, they remained friends and continued to co-parent their son Shaun.

Stoney was a proud graduate of Washington High School in Germantown. He started working for Charter Steel in Saukville and retired from there after more than 35 years of dedicated service.

Stoney was an avid deer hunter and trapshooter. He was looking forward to this year’s hunting season with his son and close friends.

Stoney played pool in local leagues in Ozaukee County and was known for his talent as a cook. He catered food for many events, and he supplied many fans with his delicious canned pickles, salsa, mushrooms and beyond. Stoney was a cherished friend to many and enjoyed sitting with a Busch Light, shooting the breeze and having a few laughs.

Rest easy now Stoney, your zest for life will always be remembered. “Giddy up.”

Stoney’s memory will remain in the hearts of his son Shaun Schowalter; stepdaughter Kari Peterson and her son Kyler Antonopoulos; siblings Steve (Beth) Schowalter, Jan (Chris) Fredrickson, Lee (Melody) Schowalter and Kay (the late Bruce) Herbst; nieces Melissa (Brian) Dupont, and Megan (Andy) Helm; and nephew Brian (Holly) Herbst. He is further survived by his former wife and friend Wendy Schowalter, other relatives and many, many friends.
