Time for Casey’s
The new Casey’s General Store in Fredonia will finally open Thursday, June 6.
Casey’s Area Supervisor Michelle McCrae said the store, at Highway 57 and Martin Drive, will be fully stocked with food, gas and other items when it opens.
A grand opening is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15.
Free samples of pizza, doughnuts and cookies will be offered, as well as free coffee and other specials during the grand opening, she said.
McCrae said she is still seeking full and part-time staff in all capacities, including managers.
The convenience store was originally slated to open earlier this spring, but construction was delayed due to inclement weather and other factors.
Casey’s is based in Ankeny, Iowa, and operates more than 2,000 stores, mostly in the Midwest.
Last year, Casey’s bought seven Tri-Par stores in Cedarburg, Saukville, West Bend, Slinger, Random Lake, Newburg and Hustisford.
The company hopes to build a store at Highway LL and Grand Avenue in Port Washington but is awaiting approvals from the state Department of Transportation.
The company also has stores in Beaver Dam, Jefferson and Waterford.
Most Casey’s stores are in the Midwest and features kitchens in which pizzas, cookies and other items are prepared.
Casey’s is the fifth-largest pizza restaurant in the nation.
Most of the 35-plus Casey’s stores in Wisconsin are in the western part of the state, but the company is expanding in eastern Wisconsin and farther south and east because of a new distribution center in Terre Haute, Ind., officials said.
