He finished an ironworker apprenticeship becoming a journeyman, working that trade for 30 years during which he settled in Denver, a city he loved.

A lifelong passion of his was bicycles and bicycling. Over the years, he pedaled cross country several times, befriending many biking enthusiasts, and becoming a skilled cycle builder and repairman. He made and rode unicycles as a fun-loving hobby.

In more recent years, he held various odd jobs, meeting numerous people in all walks of life resulting, over a lifetime, in the development of countless friends. He was a kind man who often quietly helped others and donated time and goods to those he saw as needy or troubled. He was a gentle soul, now missed by many.

Additionally, we wish to thank the numerous friends of Tom who quickly reached out to him and the family in a virtual outpouring of personal contacts.
