Thomas P. Watry

Thomas P. Watry entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was 91 years old.

He was born on Jan. 2, 1934, in Ashippun, Wis., to parents Lawrence and Olive Watry. 

Tom enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. 

Following his enlistment, he worked numerous jobs, including as a rural mail carrier and the owner of Tom’s Service Station in Belgium. 

Tom was united in marriage with his lifelong love Rosie Klas-Schanen on July 9, 1983. He was a great stepdad to Steve, Lisa and Bill.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards and above all spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Rosie, step-son Bill (Mary Jo) Schanen, grandchildren Joe (girlfriend Jess Haack) and Jenni (Abe) Dickenson and great-grandchildren Cash and Mikael Dickenson. 

He is further survived by siblings Clara Koepp, Bill (Linda) Watry, Anne (Steve) Burress and Joe (Ann) Watry, sisters-in-law Kathy Watry, Betty Watry and Barb Watry, brother-in-law Steve Bley, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-children Steve and Lisa Schanen and siblings Laurene (Bill) Klas, Joanne Bley, Charles Watry, George (Karen) Watry, Phillip Watry and Christopher Watry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Divine Savior Catholic Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, 330 County Rd. B, Belgium, WI 53004). The family will greet guests at the church from 3 p.m. until the Mass at 5:30 p.m. 

Tom will be laid to rest at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Dacada on Wednesday, May 21, at 11 a.m.

Tom’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Aurora at Home Hospice for their kind care and compassion.
