Thomas McHugh

    Thomas J. McHugh passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.  
    Thomas was born on Aug. 5, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Thomas and Doris (nee Vrzal) McHugh.  
    Tom enjoyed family gatherings, card games and gardening.
    His career as a computer programmer started as one of the first people to program video games. He retired from Community Care in Milwaukee.
    In retirement Tom enjoyed a Monday afternoon sheepshead group and helping the American Legion Warren Kane Post with its brat fries.
    Tom is survived by his wife Mary (nee Matson) McHugh; children Jesse (Jenni Skibek), Molly (Andy) Witt and Annie (Harsha) Goonewardana; grandson Cameron Witt; siblings Margaret (Lawrence) Schmitt, Gary (Susan) McHugh, Brian (Isabel) McHugh, David McHugh, John (Carol) McHugh and Mary (Jeff Gillian) Bessey; and siblings-in-law Michael Matson, Patrick (Denise) Matson, Paul Matson, Martin Matson and Susan (Michael) Bertram. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
    Tom was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Vernon and Bernice Matson, son Ben McHugh, brother James McHugh and sisters-in-law Sandra McHugh and Diana Matson.        
    A private visitation and memorial service was held at Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Deacon Tom Suges officiated.  
    Tom was interred next to his son Ben at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

    Tom’s family would like to thank Dr. Khan, Horizon Hospice, Alesha Ewig, PA, and all the nursing staff who assisted in Tom’s care for the support and care provided.
