Thomas E. “Tom” Moran

Thomas Edward “Tom” Moran of Port Washington, Wis., found peace May 13, 2026. He passed away at the memory care facility where he had lived for 2-1/2 years in
Germantown, Wis. He was 88 years old.
Thomas was born to Allen and Alice Moran in Beloit, Wis., on Dec. 8, 1937.
After graduation from Beloit Memorial High School in 1955, he enlisted in the Army for three years. He spent most of that time in Germany with the 176th Signal Company.
After his honorable discharge in July 1958, Tom returned home to Beloit to the home of his brother Robert, who had raised him after his parents died when he was young. It was here he met Joan Wait of Milwaukee. By October 1958, Tom also moved to Milwaukee.
In 1960, Tom and Joan were married at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
Wanting their own home, they built a house in Port Washington in 1963, where their two children, Nancy and Steven, were born and raised.
Tom worked for Simplicity Manufacturing Co. in Port for more than 34 years.
Tom enjoyed his home — being home! — and being involved in his church. He also was a sports fan, especially of the Milwaukee Braves and then the Milwaukee Brewers. Tom was known as “Lucky Tom” by his relatives because of his skill at playing cards, especially the game of Euchre.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan, daughter Nancy (James) Albert, son Steven, two much loved grandsons, Eric and Andrew Albert, nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Evelyn Russell, Robert Moran and his wife Joyce and Charles Moran and his wife Mary.
Memorial services will be held at the West/North Chapel in the Family Center on the grounds of Wisconsin Memorial Park, 12875 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, Wis., on June 5, 2026, at 3 p.m. The family will greet relatives and friends at the chapel from 2 p.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial donations would be appreciated to Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington, ctkport.org., or Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
