Theresa Ann “Terri” Heil Wysocki

Theresa Ann “Terri” Heil Wysocki, 83, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, surrounded by family.

Theresa was born on Jan. 10, 1943, in Waukegan, Ill., to Ervin and Rosina (Diedrich) Heil. She was the second of eleven children.

In 1950, the family moved to a farm near Marathon. Theresa attended St. Rose Convent in La Crosse for high school and later graduated from Viterbo University with a degree in education.

After eleven years in the convent, Theresa decided to pursue a new path and moved to Milwaukee with four friends and taught elementary school in West Allis.

On Oct. 3, 1970, she married Ronald Wysocki in Marathon. The couple lived in Milwaukee until they built their home in Port Washington in 1979.

In 1972, Theresa became self-employed with the Figurette Co., eventually becoming a regional manager, a role that allowed her to travel.

She was an active member of the senior center in Port Washington, where she taught mahjong and served on the board.

Ron and Theresa were married for more than 40 years before he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2011.

In 2018, Theresa moved to Wausau to be closer to family. She joined The Landing in Wausau, where she taught mahjong and Mexican Train. In 2022, she moved to Renaissance Assisted Living, where she continued teaching games and participated in many activities.

Theresa was known for her outgoing personality, her love of meeting new people and her ability to make everyone feel welcome.

Theresa is survived by her siblings Richard (Lynn) Heil of Weston, Arnold (Luanne) Heil of Wausau, James (Janet) Heil of Venetia, Pa., Rose Nerad of Bellingham, Wash., Roger (Joanne) Heil of Wausau, Eugene (Paula) Heil of  Marathon, Barbara (Rodney) Roeder of Weston and Margaret (Barry) Busse of Wausau; sister-in-law Carol Heil of Wausau; brother-in-law Greg Stark of Edgar; and godson Bradley (Cory Voigt) Heil of Ringle; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her in-laws Frank and Genevieve Wysocki, her sister Elaine Heil-Stark and her brother Dennis Heil.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Renaissance Assisted Living and the Aspirus ICU for the compassionate care given to their sister Theresa.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the services at 11 a.m.

Burial will take place in the spring.
