Terry James Nierode

Terry passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at ProCare Hospice of Nevada with family and friends by his side.

Terry was born on Nov. 12, 1957, in Milwaukee to the late Myrtle (Hubert) Reardon and James Nierode.

Terry grew up in Port Washington and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1976. He obtained a nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

He worked as a nurse in Milwaukee for eight years and moved to California and then to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he continued his 30-year career as a medical insurance underwriter with Northwestern Mutual Insurance Co. and Pacific Life Insurance Co. until he reitred in 2022.

Terry enjoyed traveling the world with his friends and was a food enthusiast who loved sharing recipes with family and friends. His favorite places to visit were France, Germany and Mexico.

Terry is survived by his siblings Dale (Jeanne) Nierode, Robin (Cindy) Nierode and Crystal (John) Greene. He is further survived by nephews, nieces and many wonderful friends.

Special thanks to Aaron, Angela, Franco, Jeff, Linda, Philippe and Robert, who cared for him during his illness.

A celebration of life will be held in Port Washington, Wis., at a later date. This event will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together and honor Terry’s memory, sharing stories and celebrating the impact Terry had on our lives.

It has been so hard to let you go.

To be in heaven that we know.

But you did not go along.

Part of us went with you.

The day God took you home.

You will forever be in our hearts.

Your memory will keep us from falling apart.

You should hear the kind words people say.

How you touched their lives in so many ways.

I am proud and blessed to get to say.

That’s my brother in every way.

Thank you, brother, for all you gave.

For everything you showed us along the way.

Now I want to tell you.

How much I love and miss you, too.

So, rest in peace, big brother of mine.

I will see you again when it’s my time.
