Teresa Lynn Schmidt

On Feb. 23, 2025, Teresa Lynn Schmidt (nee Dale), dedicated mother, grandmother and friend, gained her angel wings at the age of 59, just two days shy of her 60th birthday, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Teresa was born to Stanley Richard Dale and Katharina Stiller on Feb. 25, 1965, in Fort Knox, Ken., the middle child of six children.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her passion and her integrity to those she loved was unwavering. She was a friend to hundreds, admired and respected by everyone who came in contact with her. She made an instant impact on everyone who met her.
Teresa was born into a military family and her father Stanley was eventually stationed at Fort Carson, just south of Colorado Springs, Colo. Teresa eventually moved from Colorado to Grafton, Wis., with her four children.
She began her career working as a waitress and became friends with everyone. She was able to cross paths with so many people this way and created hundreds of friendships along the way.
After her diagnosis, she moved to Maine to be closer to her children. She ultimately lost her battle with cancer with her children by her side.
Teresa was strong willed with an enormous heart. She was generous, loyal and brave. She was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of her life experiences.
She will be remembered for all of the heart and love she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each and every one of them.
She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and beyond words — a kind of love that knows no bounds!
Teresa was predeceased by her father Stanley Dale, her mother Katharina Stiller and her sister Sharon Scofield.
She is survived by her brothers Andy Dale, Stephan Dale and Michael Dale; her sister Patty Edwards; her oldest son Christopher Day; her daughter Jacqueline Minott; her son Patrick Minott; and her son Richard Minott.
She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Dylan Krebs and Brandon Krebs, and leaves behind many other family members and friends who will forever love and miss her.
“Seeing death at the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean. May our paths diverge for now but our hearts remain connected. It’s not goodbye, simply see you later.”
Love always and forever to the moon and back.
