Susan Walker
Susan K. Walker, formerly of Grafton and Saukville, died Wednesday, Sept.12, at her home in Newburg. She was 69.
Mrs. Walker was born in Stevens Point on April 10, 1949, to Robert Helminiak and Mary Ann Moss Helminiak. She grew up in the Stevens Point area, graduating from Maria Catholic High School, now Pacelli High School, in 1967.
On Aug. 24, 1984, she married John Walker in Grafton. They settled in Grafton before moving to Saukville and more recently to Newburg. Mrs.Walker worked for Ozaukee County as a social worker for many years, retiring in 2011.
She enjoyed traveling to Jamaica every spring with her husband.
She also enjoyed relaxing at the family’s trailer near Crivitz, reading, and socializing with friends and family.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her children, Jennifer (Stuart) Engert of West Bend, Steven (Robyn) of Roberts, and Michael (Elena) of Greendale; grandchildren Miranda, Brooke, Brittany, Alex, Hannah, Mariana, Christopher and Anita; her mother, sister Judy Butcher and brother Roy (DeAnna) Helminiak, both of Plover; sister-in-law Julie Helminiak of Bancroft; and brothers-in-law Charles and Gene Merrill, both of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, father and brother Kurt Helminiak.
A celebration of Mrs. Walker’s life will take place Saturday, Oct. 20, with the time and location to be announced.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society are requested.
Eernisse Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
