Susan Bauer

Susan D. Bauer, 75, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at her Port Washington home.

Mrs. Bauer was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 3, 1943, to Alvin and Dorothy Walsh Voigt.

She graduated from Brookfield Central High School.  

On March 26, 1966, she married John Knebel in Milwaukee.

Mr. Knebel preceded his wife in death on Oct. 31, 1986.

Before settling in Port Washington in June 1995, Mrs. Bauer lived in Milwaukee, Knoxville, Tenn., and Atlanta, Ga.  

She worked as an administrative assistant for a number of insurance and real estate companies, her family said.

On Jan. 20, 1996, she married John Bauer in Port Washington.

The couple enjoyed camping in various parks in the state and were members of the West Bend Kettle Kampers Chapter of the Wisconsin Camping Association.  

Mrs. Bauer also enjoyed tracing genealogy and making digital scrapbooks for family and friends.

Mrs. Bauer is survived by her husband John Bauer of Port Washington; children Rhonda (Mike) Wells of Turtletown, Tenn., John (Glennette) Knebel of Dallas, Ga., and Lee Bauer of Greendale; and grandchildren Rebecca Wells and Casey Rohman.

She was preceded in death by her first husband John Knebel and brothers Donald and Paul Voigt.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 22, at Portview Church in Port Washington.

Interment was at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee.

Memorials to Ozaukee Christian School in Saukville or Humane Society are suggested.

Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington, handled the arrangements.
