Singer/Songwriter Series concert set for March 19

Singer and songwriter Amy Speace will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Unitarian Church North in Mequon.
Doors to the concert, which is part of the Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series, open at 7 p.m.
Speace is a folk singer who was discovered in 2006 by folk-pop icon Judy Collins and has been heralded as one of the leading voices of the new generation of American folk singers.
Her 2015 release, “That Kind Of Girl,” received rave reviews by Billboard Magazine, The New York Times and NPR.
One the most revealing albums of her career is 2021’s “There Used to Be Horses,” which pulls from her childhood memories, coming of age in New York City and losing a parent while learning to become one.
“I feel the most me when I’m on stage,” Speace said. “I’m not afraid on stage because it’s like a conversation between me and my notion of what God is, and I’m just inviting other people into that conversation.”
Adult tickets are $19 in advance and $23 at the door, with discounts of $1 per donated food item to a maximum $4 given at the door. Student tickets are $12.
Tickets may be purchased at  North Shore Bank in Grafton and Vines to Cellar in Port Washington.
The church is at 13800 N. Port Washington Rd.
Future Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series concerts include  Rachael Kilgour on Saturday, April 9; Susan Werner on Saturday, April 23; Tret Fure on Saturday, May 7; and John Gorka on Friday, May 20.
