Singer, songwriter White to perform on April 13
Singer and songwriter Don White will perform a Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Unitarian Church North in Mequon.
White is variously described as a storyteller, comedian, author, troubadour and folk singer-songwriter who has worked in music for 25 years.
His music combines humor and powerful songwriting, and he has shared the stage with such musicians as Christine Lavin, Arlo Guthrie, Taj Mahal, Ritchie Havens, Patty Larkin, Bill Morrissey, Tom Rush, and Louden Wainright III.
White is currently working on a new album.
“As a writer, I’m interested in all kinds of things now. I have all these ideas where I want to let the story tell the story, instead of coming out and saying, ‘This is how I feel.’” White said. “I want to write that way now.”
Adult tickets are $17 in advance or $21 at the door, and student tickets are $10. Discounts of $1 per donated food item to a maximum $4 will be given at the door.
Tickets are available at Vines to Cellar Winery in Port Washington, Grapes & Tastes and the Stagecoach Inn, both in Cedarburg, and at the North Shore Bank branches in Grafton and Mequon.
Coffee, water, juices, and snacks will be available for purchase.
The church is at 13800 N. Port Washington Rd.
