Shawn R. Wendler

Mrs. Shawn R. Wendler of Grafton passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Heritage Health Services in Port Washington. She was 73 years old.
Shawn was born in Humberg, Wis., on Dec. 12, 1947, the daughter of Charles Smith and Alice Long Smith.
She grew up in Black River Falls and graduated from Black River Falls High School with the Class of 1966.
On Dec. 7, 1974, she married Michael Wendler at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in West Allis.
Shawn enjoyed creating needlepoint on canvas, doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches, watching NASCAR and collecting all things strawberry.
Shawn is survived by her husband Michael of Grafton and two daughters, Shannon (Scott) Gurka of Beloit and Sarah (Bill Eldredge) Post of Grafton. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Shaun (Nicole), Benjamin, Cassandra and Jacob; one brother Doug (LaVonne) Smith of Tomah; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Sheldon, Dwight and Tim.
Celebration of life services will be held at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, on Sunday, March 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
